I am back:)

Sorry it took me this long to post something...

I was almost a month away from my kinders... I missed them a lot and I know they missed me too (I still here one or the other saying, "Ms. Jawed when you were in India I missed you!" A very good feeling for a teacher:))

Anyways...

In math we have been working on measurement. We are having lots of fun measuring things around our classroom using standard (measuring tape) and non-standard (snap cubes, linking chains, kid steps, etc.) measuring tools. Please encourage your child to measure things around the house too.

In language we are working on rhyming words. We are using Dr. Seuss' books as our guide. We are also working on our "Heart Words" (high frequency words). We find these words around our classroom and while reading. Some kids are even using them in their stories. Ask them to find rhyming words and heart words in books, magazines and newspapers.
